What is a VP3 file?
VP3 arranges data in tagged, nested packets (embroidery summary, hoop-centered blocks, thread packets, stitch runs). Used in modern Pfaff/Husqvarna workflows.
Features & use
- More structured than simple stitch formats (richer metadata).
- Can theoretically contain multiple designs/hoops.
Notes
- Converts well to/from common formats; high-level data may be flattened in low-level targets.

Practical context
VP3 is relevant for many newer Pfaff and Husqvarna machines and is more structured than older formats such as VIP or HUS. Still, it is a machine file and not the same as an editable source file from embroidery software.
When organizing VP3 files, keep them together with PDF instructions, previews, and alternative formats. This makes it easier to identify the correct version later, especially when one design comes in multiple hoop sizes.
