What is a VIP file?
VIP comes from the Husqvarna/Pfaff ecosystem and uses compressed blocks (ARJ-related decoding) to store colors/threads and stitch attributes.

Practical context
VIP files often appear in older Pfaff or Husqvarna workflows. For daily use, the internal compression matters less than whether the file matches your embroidery machine, hoop size, and thread plan.
If you convert VIP files, review the preview, design size, and stitch sequence afterwards. Exporting to plain stitch formats can remove useful metadata, even when the stitches themselves are preserved.
