Hobbymesse Leipzig 2026: emborado at the Contors Booth

Our Hobbymesse Leipzig 2026 recap: embroidery machines at Contors, Smart-Thread yarns, our prize wheel and new hobbies at the Leipzig exhibition grounds.

emborado at Hobbymesse Leipzig 2026

Hobbymesse Leipzig took place from October 2 to 4, 2026. We joined Contors at their embroidery machine booth with emborado over the weekend and experienced a fair that brought a wonderful variety of interests together.

From crafts and embroidery machines to model railways, hobby horsing and kite flying, there was plenty to discover in Leipzig. For us, it was a chance to share our enthusiasm for machine embroidery while exploring hobbies beyond our own familiar world.

Five worlds of discovery at Hobbymesse Leipzig

The fair brings together model making, games, crafts, technology and sport. According to the organiser, the 2026 event featured 502 exhibitors from 19 countries, with more than 350 activities, workshops and shows across three days.

On the exhibition floor, those numbers translated into a wide variety of things to explore. Creative materials, elaborate model displays and sporting activities offered something new around almost every corner. Even visitors who had come for one particular hobby had plenty of opportunities to discover another interest.

We especially enjoyed the Leipzig exhibition grounds. The spacious setting and the many attractions made walking between the different areas part of the experience.

From crafts to sport: Hobbymesse Leipzig offered plenty to discover beyond embroidery.

Embroidery machines and magnetic hoops at Contors

We were based at the booth of Contors Stickmaschinen. Thank you for having us!

Contors presented a single-needle, a five-needle and a twelve-needle embroidery machine, alongside magnetic hoops and other accessories. Visitors could see different machine setups, from a single needle to machines equipped with multiple needles.

If you are just getting familiar with the equipment, our glossary explains single-needle embroidery machines and multi-needle embroidery machines. You can also find an introduction to magnetic hoops.

For us, this was a natural fit. Alongside the machine, hoop and thread, every embroidery project needs the right digital design. Managing embroidery files with emborado helps keep a collection organised so it is easier to find a design for the next project.

Our prize wheel: annual subscription discounts and sweets

At our stand, visitors could spin the wheel for discounts on an emborado annual subscription and pick up sweets. This was especially popular with younger visitors. The wheel brought plenty of cheerful moments to the busy fair.

We like how an activity like this makes it easy to stop by and get in touch. A quick spin gives people a reason to pause among all the machines, materials and new impressions. At our stand, there was room for a little playfulness too.

If you would like to get to know emborado after the fair, our application page offers an overview. You can find the regular subscriptions and included features on our pricing page.

Smart-Thread next door and inspiration for new hobbies

Smart-Thread was among our neighbours, displaying their threads. Machines, hoops, embroidery thread and digital designs were all close at hand. We also know Smart-Thread from the Allgäuer Nadelstiche 2026, where we shared their booth.

Away from the craft displays, we enjoyed discovering completely new hobbies. Model railways, hobby horsing and kite flying might seem far removed from embroidery files. But the enjoyment of trying something new and getting deeply involved in an interest is something all these activities share.

One particularly spectacular sight was the tightrope performers crossing the exhibition grounds. Attractions like these gave us plenty of reasons to stop and watch along the way.

Looking back on a weekend of discoveries

We will remember Hobbymesse Leipzig 2026 as a lively weekend full of variety. We came away with impressions of the beautiful exhibition grounds, fond memories of our time with Contors and our neighbours, and an appetite for exploring an entirely new hobby.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spun our prize wheel, and to Contors for sharing their booth with us!
