Allgäuer Nadelstiche 2026 in Oberstdorf: Fabrics, Threads, Accessories, and Many Lovely Conversations
A recap of our weekend at Allgäuer Nadelstiche 2026 in Oberstdorf: creative inspiration, textile variety, and valuable conversations at the Smart Thread booth.
emborado at Allgäuer Nadelstiche 2026
Last weekend, we were at Allgäuer Nadelstiche 2026 in Oberstdorf, a trade fair dedicated to sewing, knitting, crocheting, and textile creativity.
At the Eissportzentrum Oberstdorf, exhibitors from many different regions of Germany and neighboring countries came together. This created a colorful mix of materials, accessories, expertise, and creative ideas.
For everyone who enjoys working with fabric, thread, yarn, and needles, there was plenty to discover.
A trade fair full of creativity and a special atmosphere
What makes Allgäuer Nadelstiche so special is the great variety brought together under one roof.
Visitors could discover, among other things:
- fabrics, yarns, ribbons, and threads
- haberdashery and accessories
- patchwork materials
- buttons, felted wool, and decorative elements
- traditional fabrics and wool
- patterns, accessories, and creative materials
The fair is not only interesting for experienced textile and craft enthusiasts. Even those who may not yet be deeply involved in textile hobbies are quickly drawn in by its unique atmosphere.
The setting in Oberstdorf gave the event a very distinctive charm.
At the Smart Thread booth
We were there together with Smart Thread and had the chance to join them at their booth.
Smart Thread produces versatile threads, especially Multitalent® 40, a thread that truly lives up to its name.
What makes it special is its versatility:
one thread for embroidery, sewing, quilting, and overlocking.
That is especially exciting for creative makers, because it allows them to use the same thread for a wide range of different projects.
In addition to the threads themselves, there was also plenty of matching accessories at the booth. That made the exchange about materials, applications, and practical experiences even more interesting.

Workshops, inspiration, and exchange
Many visitors took the opportunity to discover new techniques on site, pick up practical tips, and try things out directly for themselves. This hands-on character is exactly what made the event feel so lively and approachable.
For a short break in between, the sewing café offered a lovely place to relax, whether with coffee, cake, or a light snack. We at emborado especially enjoyed the strawberry cake, which was genuinely delicious.
This combination of inspiration, learning, and personal exchange gave the fair a very pleasant atmosphere.
Familiar faces from the community
We were especially happy to meet Olga Hoppe again, whom we already knew from CREATIVA.
Under the name O’LGA, she sells high-quality scissors made in Solingen. It was wonderful to meet again in a new setting and have another conversation.
Reunions like these are something we really appreciate at events of this kind. They show just how closely connected and vibrant the creative community is.
Why events like this are valuable for us
Trade fairs like Allgäuer Nadelstiche are especially valuable to us because they bring us together with exactly the people we are building emborado for.
Whether someone mainly sews, embroiders, quilts, or combines several textile hobbies, one thing comes up again and again in conversations:
Over time, digital creative files start to pile up. Keeping track of them becomes increasingly difficult.
This is exactly the challenge we keep encountering, especially among people who have been pursuing their hobby or small business for many years.
Events like this help us better understand real workflows, learn about practical needs, and see even more clearly how strongly the different creative areas are connected.
Our conclusion
For us, Allgäuer Nadelstiche 2026 was a very beautiful and inspiring weekend in a special setting.
Oberstdorf was the perfect backdrop for it.
We are very happy that we had the chance to be there and are already looking forward to the next opportunities to meet the community in person again.
