JEF+ file

JEF+ is Janome’s extended version of the JEF format for newer machines and the Janome software family.

What is a JEF+ file?

JEF+ (file extension .jef+) is an extension of the JEF format by Janome. It is written by newer Janome machines and Janome software and can carry additional design information beyond plain stitches.

Features & use

  • Used by newer Janome models and Janome digitizing software.
  • Based on JEF: stitch data plus color information, with extra metadata.
  • Older Janome machines may only read plain JEF.

Notes

  • When a design comes in both JEF and JEF+, keep both; emborado groups them as one design.
  • Converting JEF+ to JEF works for the stitches, but the extra information is dropped.
