Explanation
Needle breakage occurs when the needle snaps during the embroidery process. Causes include excessive stitching speed, incorrect needle size, or fabric shifting during stitching.
Common Causes
- Wrong needle type or dull needle
- Poor hooping, causing fabric folds
- Hitting the hoop edge
- Too fast stitching speed
What to Do
- Stop the machine immediately
- Remove needle fragments from the machine
- Install a suitable new needle
- Re-check fabric tension and stabilizer
Prevention
The key is to regularly change your embroidery needle (rule of thumb: every 8 hours of stitching) and select the right needle for your fabric. Also, ensure proper hooping and moderate stitching speed.
