What is a DSZ file?
DSZ is the machine format of ZSK embroidery machines (ZSK Stickmaschinen, Germany). Like DST, it stores plain stitch commands rather than editable objects. Some sources also list it for Fortron machines.
Features & use
- Common on ZSK single-head and multi-head machines in commercial embroidery.
- Stitch data only: movements, jumps, trims and color stops, no object information.
- Often produced by exporting from digitizing software for a ZSK machine.
Notes
- Thread colors are usually not stored in the file; the machine or software assigns them.
- Converting DSZ to DST or EXP keeps the stitches but adds no information.
