What is a PES file?
PES is a Brother/Baby Lock hybrid format: it stores stitch data, color changes, and usually an embedded PEC block (preview/display data).
Features & use
- Very popular for home machines (Brother, Baby Lock).
- Includes stitches, colors, and preview graphics (PEC).
- Broad software support.
Notes
- Different PES revisions exist; older machines may require older versions.
- Converting to DST/EXP/JEF/VP3 is common but may flatten high-level objects to plain stitches.
